About Me:

Education & Training
Mohamed holds a master’s degree in Development Studies and has amassed over seven years of experience working in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties of Kenya. His expertise lies in humanitarian work, livelihood improvement, and resilience building in communities that are often vulnerable to climate change, economic challenges, and food insecurity. Throughout his career, Mohamed has been deeply involved in designing and implementing programs that aim to enhance community resilience, particularly in areas prone to drought, resource-based conflicts, and environmental degradation. His focus on livelihood development has led him to work closely with communities to introduce sustainable agricultural practices, promote income diversification, and strengthen local economies through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and other community-driven initiatives. In addition to livelihood enhancement, Mohamed’s humanitarian experience includes coordinating emergency responses, addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) needs, and supporting disaster preparedness and risk reduction efforts. His work in resilience-building focuses on equipping communities with the tools and knowledge necessary to adapt to environmental and socio-economic challenges, ensuring long-term sustainability and improved quality of life. His in-depth understanding of the ASAL region, coupled with his strategic approach to development and humanitarian assistance, positions him as a key player in fostering resilience and promoting sustainable development in these high-need areas.
